Producing

I’ve been writing on my two papers today, and I remembered why I love to write. I love to see my thoughts printed out, and the direct feedback you get from seeing line after line fill a paper.

Hopefully this mood will stay all week so I can get my papers finished :P I’m so tired of just reading atm, but on the other hand I guess I’m always bored with uni work. I love and I hate it.

I need new challenges

A writer’s block is best fixed through writing. A lot of the blogs I used to read every day is now updating less often. They are all writing about writer’s blocks, missing time, lack of inspiration.. and I guess it influences me too. I want, and I need, to write, but I have no idea what :)

I ordered a book about CSS last week, and it has finally arrived. I was going to pick it up, but the package wouldn’t arrive until 18, so now I’m sitting here, waiting impatiently. I hope reading about CSS will give me even more inspiration to build something! I have a few fussy ideas in my head, but nothing serious to work on so far.

I’ve been thinking of installing a dummy blog, to use for design experiments and theme building. I also need to work on the blog/website for our student committee, but the guy designing it isn’t finished yet.. I’m not sure what to do :)

Typing

It’s fascinating how relaxing it can be to type, to write. To express yourself. I love it, which is why I have a blog I guess. Just finished my last exam for this term, translation. While I’m not very good at it, I always have problems to find words, it’s a nice exercise.
Sometimes I start a blog post just because I want to write.. It never works though, I can’t just write. I need a goal :p

Anonymous

Sometimes it’s tempting to blog anonymously. The freedom and relief in being able to write anything, get things out, put them on paper. And at the same time you’re not hurting anyone, since no one knows who you are. Nothing you say can be connected to the people you write about. You can also write silly things, stupid things, and no one will judge you. At least not the real you, because they can’t reach you.

The downside is feedback, and acknowledgement. I still want feedback and want to be seen, of course. To get that, you need to be “famous”, you need to write things people like to read. And that kinda destroys the purpose of writing anonymously, at least for me. The only reason I would write anonymously would be to write things I need to write.

I don’t know.

Clichées

Today I have confirmed a stereotype, or clichée if you want to call it that.

The apartment is never as clean and tidy as when you have an essay to write or an exam to study for.

I actually got some school things done, but mostly I’ve been sitting around or cleaning my room. Tidy is nice. Now I don’t have a reason to not study anymore. Bleh.
But the important part in my life is to feel good. Therefore I’m going to finish of the rest of the small things I have to do, set up tomorrow for writing and actually play some World of Warcraft tonight. Probably call some friends, or mum, or both. I need to talk.

Sundays aren’t that good to begin with, but this one is quite ok.

Productive

Today has been a quite productive day, I finished the most boring part about my essay, just the hardest part left to do, writing down the result, analysis and discussion. Hopefully I can get that at least started tomorrow. If I can hope, I also hope I will have read more than half of Huckleberry Finn by tomorrow night. Doesn’t seem too realistic. :P

Being moody takes energy. Sleep gives energy. Easy solution: write blog posts instead of sleeping.

Windows Live Writer

TkJ wrote about Windows Live Writer, a tool to write blog posts offline on your own computer, and have the program publish them for you. I thought it sounded cool so I had to try it out, since it’s freeware :) It works with a lot of different blogging systems, and it autmatically detects how your system works and just leaves filling in login info to you. Nifty!

This post was written from Live Writer. ^^

The coolest thing is the WYSIWYG editor, you actually see what the post looks like while writing it. No more writing, saving and previewing to see it, you just switch on Web Layout mode and tadaa! Going to use it for a while and see what works and what doesn’t, for now I like it :)

When the fingers itch

My head is full of thoughts, and I want to write, but I can’t get the words out. It’s really frustrating to have a feeling of a smart and interesting thought, but not being able to catch it.

NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month, (NaBloPoMo) is a project to encourage, help and reward people for posting every day during a month. I think it’s a cool idea, to help people find inspiration for things to write about and get posting. I’m thinking I might try something like it, because I like and need to write, and it’s a challenge.

Most months have a theme, which isn’t mandatory but encouraged. It makes it even more interesting. But I think November will be a nice month to start trying it out, no special theme :) Maybe I could do my own theme. A photo a day, a quote a day, a tip a day etc. It would definitely be interesting to see if I can manage.

Could you?
